Brussel Sprouts

Sprouts are a member of the Cabbage Family(Brassicas)
but are much more sensitive to weather conditions.

You are unlikely to be successful in Sub-Tropical or
Tropical Regions.

Sprouts grow best when the maximum daily temperature
is 65 degrees F.or less.

Plant mid to late Summer for late Autumn (Fall) or early
Winter Harvest.    

Prepare the soil with plenty of Compost or rotted Manure
well before planting.

Feed every 2 or 3 weeks and water regularly.

Do not worry about frosts as they are quite resistant
to frost, 20 degrees F. or less may kill them so if
You regularly get these temperatures, pinch or cut out
the top growing point of the plants as this hastens the
maturing of the crop.

The plant is quite freeze hardy and often can keep cropping
until late Winter.

Sprouts grown when the weather is too warm are often loose
or do not develop.
